The Overseas Women’s Club of Chennai (OWC) has been running for over forty years.
We are a group of expat women who get together to enjoy activities, events, clubs, coffee mornings, the occasional evening out and family days. Our main purpose is to provide friendship and support to expat women during their time in Chennai and to make the transition into India as smooth as possible.
It is very easy to join our club and as long as you or your husband has a foreign passport you are eligible to join. Come along to one of our coffee morning (see the list) and register. You will need to fill in a simple registration form. The cost of enrolment is 2000 rupees.
You will need to bring along proof of ID, such as a passport when you join. The membership card entitles you to many discounts and you can easily make your money back with the first few weeks!
We have two coffee mornings a month the second and the forth Wednesday (please see the list of dates and venues). Every other month at the General Meeting we will have, where possible, a guest speaker.
We have a Facebook page that is members only, if you request join our membership team will get in contact with you and give you further information. The Facebook page can be found by a simple search on Facebook typing in: OWC (Overseas Women of Chennai). The Facebook page is a really useful addition to our information. We post events and activities, have invitations and reminders to events, ask questions or find help.
We also have a monthly newsletter that includes a calendar of monthly events and useful information. This monthly calendar goes out at the end of the month by email to all our members.
